Sister R.S.Subbalakshmi Ammal the founder of Sri RKM Sarada Vidyalaya handed over the schools to Ramakrishna Mission, on Akshya Tritiya Day, on 2 May 1938. To honour the great soul who lived for others ‘The Founder's Day’ was celebrated with great reverence this year on Akshaya Triti, April 21.

All the teachers working and retired from sister schools of the institute attended the celebration. After prayer and bhajan, gita chanting took place. The great memories of her association by associates with her were shared with the audience. Some representatives of her family could attend the function. In remembering her it was an emotional thanks giving for all. 

It was decided to celebrate Founder's Day in all the schools on Akshya Tritiya Day every year.
