The Awakened Citizen Programme by Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi is a value education course for children of classes 7 to 9. Our school hosted the three day orientation programme for teachers.  Teachers from 19 schools participated in the first year of the programme launched in Chennai.

The function was inaugurated on Tuesday the 2^nd of September 2014 at 9.00am in our school premises. Rev.Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj, President of Ramakrishna Math, Chennai was the Chief Guest. It begun with Lighting of Lamp by Swamiji. Welcome Address was delivered by Swami Shantatmanandaji. A film show on the value Education was projected. Rev.Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj addressed the gathering with his inspiring speech which revealed the utmost responsibility of the teachers to inculcate high values of education among the students and to prepare them to be responsible citizens.

The aim of the programme is to equip school students with important life skills and empower them to develop as enlightened citizens.
